Car Upgrades
Players can level up their cars with upgrades. Cars are valued by their class and rating. A car's rating is made up of the sum of all of its upgrades. Each car has a beginning rating of 100 and a max rating of 24,000. Max upgraded cars are referred to as 24K rated cars. The base car is Rookie Class and starts with Engine and Tires Level 0.
Upgrades in the game will be purchased using RPM tokens. Prices will be quoted in USD. Even when the price of RPM fluctuates, the cost of the upgrades will remain the same in USD.
Some upgrades require a car to have participated in a number of races before it can be purchased, this is referenced in the table below under # to Unlock. Upgrades must be purchased in order. You will not be able to buy an Engine Level 4 unless you have first purchased the upgrade levels below it.

How do upgrades impact a car's performance in a race?
For car performance, the sum of all of your car upgrades increases your total car rating and gives you a higher likelihood of winning. However, having the most upgraded car does not mean you will win every race. As the primary outcome of the race is based on your skill as a driver.
