Tournaments

One of the most important benefits of storing game data on-chain, is that it allows us to offer a variety of tournament options. These tournaments will allow players to determine who is the fastest.

The project will also match amounts raised in tournament fees from the treasury, making the prize pools significant. Our goal is to make RPM tournaments a place where the community can come together, root for their favorite racer, cheer on their favorite team, and find out who is the best of the best.

Benefits of Tournaments

Tournaments bring a lot of benefits to RPM, including:

  • Better gameplay experience through more strategic race selection

  • Accessibility for more players

  • Large prize pools

Tournament Structure

RPM tournaments are a single elimination format involving groups of 26 drivers. The structure of each group follows this format:

Tournament Rounds

Depending on the number of players participating, the tournament will consist of a series of rounds leading up to the final race. Each block of the tournament consists of 2 races: sprint trial and a final race. These rounds begin to eliminate players in order to reach the fastest 26 players in the metaverse.

Once the final 26 players have been selected, the final sprint trial will take place. This will determine the pole position and other driving arrangements. In F1, over 40% of all race winners start at the pole. The same is true in Ready Player Motorsports.

By adding a sprint trial, we allow players from all levels participate in the tournaments and also reward better drivers with better starting position. Additionally, although lower-skilled players will most likely not win the tournament, they will accrue valuable points for participating. Points are totaled at the end of each season, and prizes are awarded to those with the most points. Finally, players are rewarded for reaching certain points milestones
